Nutshell Team Spotlight: 11 Questions with Cel Calventas, Production Associate in the Philippines

Cel has worked at Juboken with Bo for more than a decade. She brings to Nutshell a thorough knowledge of coconut fiber production and deep personal relationships with farmers and suppliers!

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Cel: My favorite question when I was a kid! I really wanted to be a teacher or a nun hahaha

What is one thing on your bucket list?

Cel: I want to see my four kids (two biological, two from my late sister) finish their studies and become successful in the future.

What are you most proud of?

Cel: Accepting all of the responsibilities that my late father has left for the sake of the family, since I am the only one left to accompany my mother in everything.

What is your favorite memory from working at Nutshell?

Cel: When I have signed a contract at Nutshell, and when we did the interview of the farmers with David and Julius.

Outside of work, what’s your favorite hobby?

Cel: I love singing!

What's something you didn’t expect when joining Nutshell?

CelActually, joining the Nutshell team is the least I expected 😁. I was so surprised that I was chosen to be on the team and found out to be very interesting working with everyone though some tasks are quite difficult, yet I am still happy that there are a lot of things that I learned while being here.

Where is your favorite place in the Philippines?

Cel: Cebu. I loved the beaches.

What do you find most interesting about your work?

Cel: I can meet different people and can travel sometimes while working.

Who is the most influential person in your life?

Cel: My family, especially my kids, are my inspiration. Seems like I can do everything because of them. They are my strength.

If you were stranded on a deserted island with only a Nutshell, what is one thing you want to be in there?

CelWater, so I can survive.

One word you would use to describe your work?

Cel: Heaven's gift 😅
